Specialties
We have what we feel is a super special approach- uniting mindfulness, early literacy and STEM through the Reggio and RIE approach. We focus on growing confidence, self-worth, resilience and independence. We see our children as very capable, yes even at 18 months of age, and we see them as partners in the classroom. Opportunities for intentional play and learning (both planned and natural happenings) are indoors, outdoors, and really all around us! We also believe that getting messy, failing, making mistakes and having a hard time with things (and friends) are also essential experiences in the early years. In short, while we may not be the perfect fit for all families and littles, we do feel strongly about our approach and in building a strong sense of community within our nursery school. Much effort is placed in developing our team (families and teachers), in professional growth, and in sustaining all that we feel makes Harmon Oaks so special.
